Cycling
The surrounding hills and valleys offer great terrain for cycling, ranging from flat easy tracks suitable for parents with children, through hilly paths for more demanding bikers, to special single tracks for advanced riders.
Canoeing
Local flat water rivers and lakes offer great opportunities for canoeing trips - one day or weekends with overnight camping. All locations are safe with swimming and bathing options on hot summer days.
Hill walking and hiking
Mountains, hills, meadows, rivers, forests - all virtually free to walk in, no private land or restrictions, you can walk as you wish, provided you respect the countryside code and the additional rules within preservation areas and national parks. There are great opportunities for all those who like light strolling in the countryside and those prefering long distance hill walking along ridges of hills.
